Faction = the primary language tag (langs[0]) on each post as it's created — real traffic, not a simulation. Eight factions: english, japanese, portuguese, spanish, korean, german, french, and an "everyone else" catch-all for every other tag, so nothing is ever unrepresented. A strike prefers the frontier — a neutral or enemy cell touching land a faction already holds — 75% of the time, and picks anywhere else the rest, so the whole map stays contested instead of one corner. State lives only in this tab; reload or hit restart and the war starts over from an empty board. Posts arrive live off the Jetstream firehose — nothing you do here is sent anywhere.
